How To Get An 11% Rebate At Home Depot

disclosure

Many people know about Menard’s 11% off rebate, but did you know that Home Depot also offers an 11% off rebate? Yes, they do and we are here to tell you all the nitty gritty details to take advantage of this 11% rebate at Home Depot!

Home Depot 11% Rebate Rules

Whether you are doing some home improvement or just need some new light bulbs, you might as well take advantage of Home Depot’s 11% rebate offer. By redeeming the rebate, a $100 purchase will essentially only cost you $89. Additionally, the more money you spend, the more money you’ll save with the rebate. Before you start shopping, here’s everything you need to know about the offer as there are some exceptions to the rebate.

Only select stores in 16 certain states participate.

Home Depot, also affectionally known simply as “HD”, created the 11% rebate to compete with Menards stores that frequently offer 11% off rebates. Therefore, only Home Depot stores within a certain radius of Menards stores participate.

States That Offer Home Depot 11% Rebate

The 11% rebate at Home Depot is only offered in the 16 states listed below:

  1. Arkansas
  2. Iowa
  3. Illinois
  4. Indiana
  5. Kansas
  6. Kentucky
  7. Michigan
  8. Minnesota
  9. Missouri
  10. North Dakota
  11. Nebraska
  12. Ohio
  13. South Dakota
  14. Wisconsin
  15. West Virginia
  16. Wyoming

These states all contain Menards stores, but that doesn’t mean all Home Depot locations within these states participate. Like we said earlier, the Home Depot store must be within a certain vicinity of a Menards store. Here is the full list of participating Home Depot stores

Rebate is offered for in-store purchases only.

Unfortunately, the Home Depot 11% rebate applies to in-store purchases only, unlike Menards rebates that also apply to online orders.

To get your rebate though, you do need to go online to the Home Depot Rebate Portal and submit your purchase date, as well as the receipt number and total amount paid. If you lose your receipt, Home Depot should be able to reprint one for you if you know the date and time that you made your purchase.

You must submit your receipt within 30 days of the date of your purchase. We do not know if Home Depot is as lenient as Menards in letting you submit late rebates (we presume not since it’s submitted electronically).

Home Depot Rebate Submission

You will then receive an 11% rebate on an electronic Home Depot e-Gift Card that will be delivered via e-mail in approximately 36-37 days, although they ask you to allow 4-6 weeks from the date of submission.  If you do not receive your e-Gift Card after 8 weeks, you can call 1-866-451-1357 for an update.

It would be nice if Menards ponied up and offered both electronic submission and e-mail delivery. It would save us all on stamps, time and the dreaded lost mail.

Certain items do not qualify for rebate.

According to the HD Rebate Portal, the promotion details will not apply to purchases of:

  • Discounted, bulk discount, and value priced products
  • Products using Pro Xtra Preferred Pricing (this is for contractors)
  • Excluded products listed here (this list is 1306 pages long and subject to change without notice)
  • Services (including freight, delivery, tool and truck rental fees, and labor SKUs)
  • Gift cards
  • Special orders
  • Online orders (we added this one to the list to reiterate)

Rebate is only offered during certain times.

Home Depot does not offer the 11% rebate all year long. They tend to stay on the same schedule as Menards offering the 11% rebate. If you plan making a big purchase, you may want to check the Home Depot Rebate Portal for current and new dates so you can plan your purchase.
