Have you ever wondered what happens to all those items that get returned to Amazon? Or the items that the Amazon warehouse or freight company damages before even getting to the consumer? And then there’s the overstock, mislabeled, or stranded items from FBA sellers and third-party marketplace resellers. Amazon does try to resell some pre-owned, used, and open box products in their Amazon Warehouse, but most items become “Amazon Liquidation Salvage” that is sold off to brokers for resellers to buy. These resellers may then sell the items online or offline where consumers can buy brand items for a fraction of the original retail price.

How To Tell What Are Amazon Liquidation Items
Before I tell you where to find an Amazon liquidation store or Amazon bin store near you, let me give you a few tips on how to spot Amazon salvage items at a liquidation store near you. There are two main ways to tell if the items being sold are Amazon salvage items: either by their stickers attached or their brand name.
Amazon License Plate Number Stickers
If you see a white rectangular sticker with a barcode and letters and numbers starting with “LPN” like the ones shown above, you’ll definitely know the item is an Amazon salvage item.
Amazon LPN stands for “License Plate Number” and is a unique identifier code used by Amazon FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) to track inventory stock units within Amazon’s warehouses. These are usually Amazon returns or unfulfillable items.
